Astounded about the current gyrations in the markets, from interest rates to petrol? Treasuries have bumped up, and crude is cruising closer to $70 a barrel.

Last week, the whole thing started again: “Bonds are bad for your financial health. And even worse, they’re going to even destroy the stock market.”

The mention of Latin America used to only trigger thoughts of coffee. Now when someone mentions Latin America, people start to think about other resources, including beans for ethanol and other biofuels…

It’s not all about the US any longer. Sure, we’re still No. 1. But that doesn’t mean that the others in the top 10 live or die on what’s going on in the US, as was once the case.

If you take a peek inside one of my golf bags, you’ll see that my woods are just like yours; not a branch was harmed to forge my driver or fairway woods.

It isn’t just about building the tools of war and feeding the troops; the Department of Defense (DoD) continues to allocate bigger chunks on just developing what will be our next line of defense against enemies known and unknown.
