Sell Bioverativ Calls for 3-week 71% Gain

Sell to close the April 20, 2018 call on Bioverativ (NSDQ: BIVV) with a strike price of $55 at $6.60 or higher for a gain of 71%. Symbol (BIVV180420C55)

Bioverativ is up sharply today while presenting at a JP Morgan conference in San Francisco. While no firm news is on the wire, I would book this gain.

Did this trade by buying the APR 55/60 call spread for a debit of -$1.85. Just closed the position for $2.75. Not as good percentage return, but still very nice on lower cost getting in.

closed my debit spreads for $4.95.. wish I had regular open calls, $39 jump in stock price today.. wow!

Hello all,

I try to not spend too much energy looking at positions we’ve closed out, particularly ones that generated 71% gains as our BIVV calls did. However, today is a unique day!!

Not to make us all feel terrible, but those April 55 calls that we bought for $3.85 and sold for $6.60? They are currently trading at $48.00!!

This is one crazy market.
Anyone lucky enough to still own them??
