Bargains Amid Chaos

In the maelstrom of news that whips the markets daily, two topics that dominate are security and healthcare. Worries about both abound. For example, more than half of Americans (56%) say they are “extremely” or “very” worried that many will lose their health insurance if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, according to a recent poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Similar numbers show anxiety about cybersecurity, personal financial security and economic stability.

That’s helped put a premium on many companies that supply security and healthcare, and with the market trading at lofty valuations, it’s particularly hard to find juicy deals in those two sectors.

But we’ve found two for this issue. The first is beaten-up drug company Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY). It’s been on our recommended list since December, but we keep finding more reasons to own it. Plus, we already turned around a three-week, 25% profit on a BMY call for subscribers, and Joe Duarte has another option play on the company in this issue’s story.

One security problem most people aren’t aware of is the dangers caused by the $100 bill. Now, we all would like a wad of Franklins in our pocket, but those bills have become the de facto medium of exchange for organized crime, leading to tax evasion and corruption all over the world. Analyst Ben Shepherd recommends a company with hi-tech solutions to provide currency security. The stock of Viavi Solutions (VIAV) has been on fire the last year, but Ben sees that it has plenty of room to run.

And wouldn’t it be nice to get out of the market storm? Just last month we started recommending private platform investments, which aren’t jerked around by the markets. These investments give small investors the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of businesses that have yet to go public or which, hopefully, will be bought out at huge premiums in the future.

A whole private-financing, money-raising industry is growing due to liberalization of investment laws, and at Breakthrough Tech Profits we’re keeping you on the cutting edge of that burgeoning business. In this issue we talk about some private real estate investments that you can get into for a minimum of $1,000, and also the company managing those REITs—Fundrise—is a leader in crowdfunding and is itself a candidate to invest in.
